MID-RANGE: Residenza d’Epoca San Cassiano

This was our pick when we visited Venice last time and we couldn’t recommend it enough. The rooms are nicely decorated, and some have a direct view of the Canal Grande.

The Residenza d’Epoca is located in a quiet neighborhood of Venice. It is well connected to St. Mark’s Square and Santa Lucia Railway Station by Vaporetto. This makes it perfect for couples who want to have an intimate atmosphere, without giving up the chance to be located close to the main attractions.

The breakfast is usually served on the last floor with multiple tables available on the balcony. If you come early, you can enjoy your breakfast overlooking the Canal Grande.

The terrace bar was my highlight as they opened it only for us and we had a private aperitivo (this was during a partial lockdown, so it was not open to the public!).

During the high season, this goes above mid-range, but it is a 4-star hotel in Venice so I can justify that. During the quiet months, the prices are very affordable.
