Best mid-range hotels in Venice
MID-RANGE: Residenza d’Epoca San Cassiano
This was our pick when we visited Venice last time and we couldn’t recommend it enough. The rooms are nicely decorated, and some have a direct view of the Canal Grande.
The Residenza d’Epoca is located in a quiet neighborhood of Venice. It is well connected to St. Mark’s Square and Santa Lucia Railway Station by Vaporetto. This makes it perfect for couples who want to have an intimate atmosphere, without giving up the chance to be located close to the main attractions.
The breakfast is usually served on the last floor with multiple tables available on the balcony. If you come early, you can enjoy your breakfast overlooking the Canal Grande.
The terrace bar was my highlight as they opened it only for us and we had a private aperitivo (this was during a partial lockdown, so it was not open to the public!).
During the high season, this goes above mid-range, but it is a 4-star hotel in Venice so I can justify that. During the quiet months, the prices are very affordable.
MID-RANGE: Ca’ San Polo
Recently renovated Ca’ San Polo, is set in a 15th-century building in the historic heart of Venice. The panoramic roof terrace and the top-floor breakfast room offer breathtaking views of the San Polo district.
Every room in Ca’ San Polo is spacious and delightfully decorated in Venetian style. There are amenities like WiFi, a safe, a tea/coffee maker, and more. Each bathroom offers free toiletries and a bathrobe.
And it’s worth mentioning that there is a lift in this hotel as this is not common for hotels in Venice considering that most of them are built inside historical palaces.
Breakfast is another reason why guests love this hotel so much. Here you will try homemade cakes and pies, sweet and savory delicacies, and more local products. The staff can help you book experiences around the city and they welcome small pets.
MID-RANGE: Albergo San Marco
This hotel offers a fantastic position for your Venice itinerary since St. Mark’s Square is just a few minutes away. It’s not easy to find mid-range hotels in the area of St. Mark’s Square.
On top of that, it is the best area to stay in Venice for first-time visitors and those who are returning to Venice.
There is a restaurant and a cocktail bar where you can try Italian food and aperitif. All the rooms are decorated in Venetian style and offer a private bathroom with free toiletries and a hairdryer. Other essential amenities like wi-fi, TV, and a minibar are provided.
