Feeka is a meeting spot in Kuala Lumpur and it has multiple locations around the city. As the name suggests, it is a perfect place to take a break accompanied by some of the best coffee in Kuala Lumpur.
It is open from 8 am to 10 pm, so you can come over for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or an afternoon snack. They accept cards and you can make a reservation in advance to avoid the waiting time. However, if you are looking for halal or vegan food in KL, Feeka is not a suitable place for you.
leaf & co. cafe
leaf & co. cafe is a lively cafe nearby the famous Petaling Street Market in Chinatown. And it certainly has to be on the list of the coolest cafes in Kuala Lumpur.
Whether you are craving Asian specialties, Western dishes, or a Fusion menu, they have it all. Together with a cool drink menu and the most delicious espresso, it is a place to be. The place has a rustic vintage vibe and it can be considered another Instagram-worthy cafe in Kuala Lumpur.
It is open from 10 am to 10 pm, so not the best option for early birds, but certainly, a place to be for a late brunch or dinner. Cards are accepted, but no reservations on the weekends and public holidays.
Breakfast spot KL
If you are looking for the most Instagrammable cafes in KL, Breakfast spot KL should be your number one option. Despite a few low ratings on Google, we decided to try it, and it didn’t disappoint, so we returned more than once.
When it comes to design, you will be welcomed with green archways on the terrace and some interesting details inside the cafe. The menu mostly consists of breakfast dishes, some mouth-watering pastries, different types of coffee, and other unique drinks.
It is open from 8 am until 6 pm, but the best pastries are served in the afternoon. Cards are accepted and reservations are not possible. Normally ordering and paying are done online, so cash is not accepted.
KLCG Confectionery & Bakery @Dataran Merdeka
In case you have a sweet tooth and a love for pastries, head to KLCG Confectionery & Bakery @Dataran Merdeka. It is located in Kuala Lumpur City Gallery, which is a very cool information hub where you can learn more about the city. It is free to visit and together with the bakery, needs to be added to your Kuala Lumpur itinerary.
This bakery serves the famous Suprême croissants with some of the best fillings like mousse chocolate, peanut butter, and pistachio cream. Other pastries and cakes are available, however, I still dream about these round scrumptious delights. Trust me on this one!
I have to warn you, that their lunch & breakfast menu is very poor, so don’t plan to have a meal here. Their specialty comes from the bakery, so stick to that.
It is open from 9 am to 6 pm and can be combined with visiting Merdeka Square. The prices are a bit above average, but completely worth it.
The Hungry Tapir
If you are looking for the best vegetarian or vegan cafe in Kuala Lumpur, head to The Hungry Tapir. Together with other hip cafes, it is located in Chinatown and it is one of the best aesthetic cafes in Kuala Lumpur.
On the menu, you can find anything from breakfast deals to tapas with friends, healthy options, and some junk food as well. The choice is wide, and even as a non-vegan, I wanted to try literally everything from the menu.
It has unusual working hours, so make sure you check their Instagram account for updates. Also, The Hungry Tapir is pet friendly, so you can bring your furry friend and enjoy some of the best vegan food in KL.
Wu Di Cafe
Wu Di Cafe is another cool cafe in Kuala Lumpur and it is a perfect place if you want to get some work done. The prices are a bit on the high end, however, they have lunch and dinner sets and very affordable deals.
The first floor and the terrace is a perfect place to enjoy some of their delicious coffee, while the second floor feels more like a place to have a meal and do some work afterward. In the evening, you have access to the rooftop terrace and grab a drink as you watch the sun go down.
When it comes to the menu, they have the usual breakfast food, toasties, pastries, cakes, etc., however, my favorite part is their lunch and dinner menu. A lot of unique dishes that you won’t find in other cafes in KL. Also, some local dishes are available.
It is open from 9 am to 10 pm, however, it is closed on Mondays. We stayed right around the corner from Wu Di Cafe and it was never really crowded. In fact, I think it makes Wu Di Cafe the best work-friendly cafe in KL.
If you want to try some local Malaysian food in an aesthetic cafe in Kuala Lumpur, Malaya Garden should be the next stop on your itinerary. They have few locations available, but the best one is located in City Center or Chinatown.
They serve a lot of local dishes together with a brunch menu and western options with a local twist are available as well. The place is very modern and it is definitely an Instagram-worthy cafe in Kuala Lumpur. It has two floors and a garden terrace on the top.
It is open from 9 am to 9 pm. You can make a reservation in advance and ask for a table at the garden terrace if you do. Also, if you never tried coconut ice cream before, this is the place where you have to do it!
Dough by Meg
Another great coffee shop in KL for someone with a sweet tooth is Dough by Meg. While their pastries might look good, you don’t want to miss their specialty – bomboloni stuffed with hearty and sweet fillings. This is a place to be if you want to satisfy your taste buds!
They have few locations around KL, however, the cafes are usually small and have limited space. Certainly, avoid it during the weekends if you have the chance. And in case you don’t like to wait, you can always take their delights to go or order at home.
Bubble Bee Cafe
All-day brunch, bubble waffles, cute design, and very affordable prices. What else you might need? Oh, did I mention delicious coffee? Yes, Bubble Bee Cafe has it all. And it is topped with a convenient location in the heart of KL.
The back entrance of the cafe takes you to Kwai Chai Hong. It is a photogenic alley with interesting street art murals. You can find paintings from street scenes of KL from the 1960s. Together with Bubble Bee Cafe, it is a must-visit during your trip to Kuala Lumpur.
It is open from 8 am to 6 pm, so not the best option for a dinner date, but other than that, Bubble Bee Cafe offers one of the best affordable food in KL. And who doesn’t like a bubble waffle, right?
Unlike the other cafes in Kuala Lumpur, this one is open after midnight and serves many cool cocktails, so it is a perfect place for a fun night out with your friends. During the day, it is just a regular cafe, so if partying is not your thing, it is still worth a visit.
Their pastries and cakes are to die for and I still dream about their chef’s signature dishes. It has a minimal design, cool aesthetics, and a plunge pool. Their unique tap tap cocktails are worth trying out as well!
As mentioned, it is open until 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays and until 1 am for the rest of the week. They have a happy hour from 5 pm to 8 pm, so you can get some pretty cheap drinks. Also, it is a pet-friendly cafe in Kuala Lumpur.
Man Tao Bar
And the list of the coolest cafes in Kuala Lumpur wouldn’t be complete without a rooftop bar. That is when Man Tao Bar on the 21st floor of the Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur steps in. What makes it so great?
Definitely, the views and the infinity pool are accessible to the customers or hotel guests. The cocktails are delicious and very affordable as well. I didn’t get to try their food, but there are some snacks available. This is hands down one of the best rooftop bars in KL.
If you are staying at the Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur, you can access the pool anytime, however, the bar itself opens at 3 pm and it is a perfect sunset spot in KL. This place hosts private events very often, so maybe give them a call just to confirm the availability before you head to Man Tao Bar.

VCR is located in the Pudu neighborhood together with other amazing cafes, however, it doesn’t fear the competition as it is one of the most loved and top-rated cafes in Kuala Lumpur.
I can guarantee that their menu is overwhelming at first! Just because everything on the menu sounds delicious, so you might want to come back to try more dishes. When it comes to drinks, you have a long list of cocktails, tea, lemonade, and of course, coffee.
VCR gets very crowded during lunch and dinner time, however, if you stop by in between, it is a work-friendly cafe in KL – despite the laptop-free zone advertised at the entrance! Open from 8.30 am to 8 pm.
