Cannoli is the typical dessert of Sicily and a must-try when visiting Palermo.

The surroundings of Palermo also host some of the most beautiful places in Sicily. People who are into religious art can’t miss the Monreale Cathedral and its majestic interiors. In addition to its natural allure, Cefalù boasts a rich cultural heritage. Its most prominent landmark is the Cefalù Cathedral, a magnificent Norman-Arab-Byzantine structure that dominates the town’s skyline.

Venturing a few kilometers from Cefalù, you can discover some hidden gems in Sicily’s countryside. 

Gibilmanna, located on the slopes of the Madonie Mountains, is known for its beautiful sanctuary, the Sanctuary of Gibilmanna. This religious site offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.

Piazza del Duomo is the heart and soul of the city, a perfect place where to try a lemon granita at Pasticceria Costarelli with a view of the beautiful Duomo. On the coast, the fractions of Stazzo and Pozzillo are a perfect example of Sicilian picturesque locations.

Aci Trezza is a lovely fisher town and one of the most beautiful coastal towns in Sicily. The village was an inspiration for the famous Sicilian writer Verga who set his novel I Malavoglia here and Luchino Visconti, who filmed here La Terra Trema.
