10 most Instagrammable places in Batumi
1. Seafront Promenade

One of the best photo spots in Batumi is the Seafront Promenade. You’ll find everything from bold architecture to everyday beach life here, so it’s easy to end up with a mix of Batumi photos without even trying.
Start at the Batumi Pier, which offers fantastic views of the Black Sea. Nearby, you will find Tolia – a cute ice cream shop perfect for your Batumi postcards. As you follow the promenade, you will pass the Engage Statue, a romantic sculpture of two lovers facing the sea.
Make sure you plan your visit for late afternoon, as this is also one of the top places in Batumi to take pictures at sunset. You’ll pass several beaches, including Mastercard Beach, the popular Batumi Beach, and the more relaxed Aquapark Beach.
If you are in the mood to walk, finish at the Restaurant Tower, a unique Batumi photo spot that features Venetian-inspired design. I would also recommend visiting the Japanese garden to discover some hidden photo spots in Batumi.
2. Batumi Piazza Square

Piazza Square is one of the most charming and most Instagrammable places in Batumi. Inspired by Italian architecture, the square is full of warm colors, mosaic art, and detailed facades that stand out from the modern buildings in other parts of the city.
Because of its design and atmosphere, Piazza Square is often featured in any Batumi photo guide. It’s also one of the famous Batumi Instagram spots, especially popular in the mornings and early evenings when the square is quiet and the light is soft.
If you want to capture the lively vibe of the square, you will have to visit during the day instead. I have to warn you that most of the cafes in the square are rated poorly, but I would still sit down for a drink to enjoy the atmosphere.
Make sure you walk the outer part of the Batumi Piazza Square as well. You can find a unique perspective of the quirky Clock Tower and don’t miss the facade of O.Galogre and St. Nicolas Church. If you are looking for a snack, you will love the Baklava House.
3. Ali & Nino Statue & surroundings

The Ali & Nino statue is one of the most iconic landmarks and a must-visit Batumi photo location. This moving sculpture tells the story of two lovers from different cultures and you can watch as the figures slowly rotate and pass through each other.
Just steps away, the giant Ferris wheel offers a bold contrast and some of the best views in Batumi from the top. You’ll also spot the Heart of Batumi installation – a fun, romantic spot that’s become one of the most Insta-worthy places in Batumi.
Walk a little further, and you’ll reach the Yacht Club, where sleek boats line the harbor and the sea breeze gives the whole area a coastal feel. The nearby Batumi Lighthouse is worth a shot as well.
As you can see, the area around the Ali & Nino Statue is full of great Batumi photo spots, so you will have plenty of photo opportunities. You will find a mix of modern architecture and classic design, topped with a romantic atmosphere.
4. Europe Square and Memed Abashidze Avenue

Europe Square is one of the most important public spaces in the city and definitely one of the best places to take photos in Batumi. With its mix of history, architecture, and open spaces, it presents a modern perspective on Batumi’s past.
The square is home to the Medea statue, which honors the mythological figure who, according to legend, helped bring the Golden Fleece to ancient Georgia.
Around the square, you’ll find a mix of 19th-century buildings and newer structures that reflect European influences. You can’t miss the iconic Black-Gold Roof building. It features a beautiful design, unique gold details on the roof, and a stained glass balcony.
Leading from Europe Square, Memed Abashidze Avenue is a lively street lined with stylish buildings, cafes, and trees. Thanks to its beauty, it has become one of the popular Instagram spots in Batumi. Don’t miss the Astronomical Clock and Cinema Apollo as you stroll by.
5. Batumi Theater

The Batumi Theater is one of the city’s most iconic buildings. Built in the 1950s, it’s a classic example of Soviet-era architecture with neoclassical elements. The golden details and unique facade give it an elegant feel.
The theater sits next to the Theater Square, which is a nice open space that gives you a nice framing for the Batumi Theater. If you’re putting together a list of the best places to take Instagram photos in Batumi, this spot belongs on it.
After exploring the area, I recommend relaxing at the Coffeetopia Batumi, just a few minutes away. It’s one of the most Instagrammable cafes in Batumi, with a cozy design and good coffee. And more photo opportunities.
6. Argo Cable Car

The Argo Cable Car offers some of the best views in Batumi. The ride takes you from the city center up to the Anuria Mountain, slowly revealing a panorama of the Black Sea, Batumi’s skyline, and the surrounding hills.
At the top, there’s a viewing platform where you can take your time and look out over the city. This is one of the top sunset photography spots in Batumi. You get the sea on one side, the mountains in the background, and the full layout of Batumi stretched out in between.
Due to its unique perspective and the wide view, the Argo Cable Car is considered one of the most beautiful places in Batumi for photography. The view is impressive during the day, but it’s especially popular in the early evening, when the city lights slowly begin to glow.
The cable car is open every day from 11 am to 10.30 pm, and an adult ticket costs 30 GEL (both ways, so keep your ticket!). The length of the cable car route is 2.5 kilometers, and it takes approximately 15 minutes one way.
7. Batumi Botanical Garden

If you’re wondering where to take photos in Batumi, head to the Batumi Botanical Garden. It’s one of my favorite places in the city, because it feels like you’ve escaped somewhere completely different, even though it’s only a short drive from the center.
The garden is huge and full of surprises. One moment you’re walking through palm trees that feel straight out of the tropics, and the next you’re in a section that feels like the Mediterranean. You’ll find quiet little paths, cliffs overlooking the sea, and random benches with picture-perfect views.
And let’s talk about those views! Some of the coastal lookouts honestly feel unreal. It is truly one of the best Batumi Instagram spots for all the right reasons. But you will want to bring comfortable shoes, because the garden is massive and will take you around 2-3 hours.
You don’t need a specific plan for the garden, but make sure you visit the Botanical Garden View Point. Also, Mtsvane Kontskhi Beach near the entrance offers some amazing views of Batumi, so bring your telephoto lens.
Batumi Botanical Garden is open every day from 9 am to 7.30 pm, and the entrance fee is 20 GEL.
8. Alphabetic Tower

The Alphabetic Tower is one of the unique landmarks in Batumi. Standing at 130 meters, it celebrates the uniqueness of the Georgian script, each letter of the alphabet spiraling around the structure in a DNA-like design.
Beyond its cultural symbolism, this tower offers one of the best panoramic views in the city. You can take an elevator to the top, where a 360-degree observation deck reveals the full beauty of Batumi’s skyline.
From here, you’ll see the Black Sea stretching to the horizon, the green hills inland, and the city’s architecture, from old courtyards to modern skyscrapers. One of the standout views is of Le Méridien Batumi. This is one of the top spots for Batumi skyline photography.
The entrance fee is 20 GEL, and it is open every day from 11 am to midnight. At the top, you will find a bar and a restaurant. While the bar is okay, the restaurant is considered overpriced, so not recommended. We stopped for a drink instead.
9. Holy Mother Virgin Nativity Cathedral

The Holy Mother Virgin Nativity Cathedral is one of the most beautiful buildings in Batumi Old Town and a must-see for architecture lovers. It’s also one of the best Batumi photography spots, especially if you enjoy shooting Neo-Gothic details.
The cathedral was originally built as a Catholic church in the early 1900s, but today it’s used by the Georgian Orthodox Church. It’s hard to believe that during Soviet times, this place was turned into a high-voltage lab. Thankfully, it was restored in 1989.
Step inside to see colorful frescoes, tall stained-glass windows, and a peaceful atmosphere. It’s free to enter, but be mindful of the dress code; modest clothing is expected inside Orthodox churches.
10. Ardagani Lake

Ardagani Lake was one of my favorite photography spots in Batumi. It’s a peaceful place surrounded by some of the city’s most interesting modern buildings, and the reflections on the water make it even better for photos.
If you’re wondering where to photograph Batumi’s modern architecture, this is a great place to start. You’ll find clean lines, bold shapes, and plenty of contrast between the glassy high-rises and the calm lake surface.
It’s one of those places that shows the newer, more modern side of Batumi. If you’re into urban landscapes, this area should be on your list of best photo spots in Batumi, Georgia.
